Most everyone knows about Earth Day. Everyone knows its a day to do your part to help clean up the planet or plant a tree. In reality everyday should be earth day. A very large environmental issue is trash invading every inch of this planet. I spend a lot of time out in remote wild places. There is one thing that holds true about every one of these places; there are signs of people, in the form of litter. I'm not asking everyone goes out and spends all their free time picking up litter, or suggesting that most people litter on purpose. Just do your part to keep from being a source.
Our national parks are amazing places to see wildlife, however when I go places like Yellowstone and see wolf cubs playing with large sheets of plastic
or Rocky Mountain National Park and see Elk eating snack wrappers, it can be disheartening
One source of litter that most people probably never even think of is balloons. Everyone has gotten balloons for some special occasion and everyone has released a balloon into the sky, whether on purpose or in my case as a disappointed little kid. If you spend time out in the Everglades, it becomes very clear that these balloons do eventually come back down and make a mess of the environment.
Do your part, help preserve the planet this earth day and every other day!
